Could 90% or more of all the genetic diversity within humans or any other "kind" of organism have been front-loaded into them at the moment of creation? This is what young-earth creationist Dr. Jeanson and others have proposed. This designed or created heterozygosity is said to have provided enough variation to account for production of hundreds of species from a starting pair or very small population. Dr. Hancock (see like to video below) has called this population genetic "nonsense" or fantasy thinking. That had me thinking, how might a YEC respond? What are they imagining the created heterozygosity might look like? In this video I try to put myself in the shoes of YECs and present a defense of created heterozygosity while offering just one critique of it near the end.
NOTE: This video is meant to by a first pass at thinking out-loud through the implications of the YEC created heterozygosity hypothesis. I'm thinking out-loud her and fully expect that your responses will help me shape this into a fuller critique of the designed heterozygosity.
