I didn't think it was worth it to get the Helsinki card because the majority of the things I wanted to visit were within walking distance from my hotel. There was not enough time to visit all the museums and I am not a big fan of the Hop on Hop off bus so I planned my own itinerary in this way...
*sorry about the wind and the shakiness in some of the footage*
HOTEL I stayed at was Omena hotel. It was so different to any other place I've stayed before. There was no check in/reception or any staff. You receive an email with a code and that code activates every door to the hotel - entrance and your room. It's a bit weird but the location was perfect and there is enough space and tea/coffee + microwave.

Meeting at the Helsinki Cathedral - main steps.
On tour we covered the Helsinki University, Parliament House, Market Square
Suemonlinna (fortress island) *NB - there are no tours during the weekdays. It is better with a guided tour and those are offered on the weekends only.
Ferry info: (ferry departs from Market square)

Toy museum: *7 Euro entrance fee - probably not worth it

Mummin/moomin cafe: (overpriced food/coffee - my suggestion - don't buy anything (or at least not food)- just come in to take photos )

Finnish Opera & Ballet - I got a 30 Euro student ticket for a really good seat - the ballet was Alice in Wonderland and I enjoyed the performance a lot. There is a nice food area where snacks/drinks are served during intermission.
