The boat hasn't sunk yet in my solo circumnavigation. The work I did in the boat yard seems fine. So far. The seams holding tight and the bilges still dry despite a real thumping with the wind over tide in the English Channel. The engine was hard to start as it’s only an old mercury 4 hp, two stroke, which makes me think I may need to invest in a new one soon, maybe as soon as Falmouth. A more reliable four stroke and increase the horse power to 6 or 8. A stunning sunset in Swanage, makes it so worthy to sail along the beautiful South coast of England as I say my final goodbyes. I anchor for the night in Sandy Bay in Salcombe, before a few days stop in Falmouth were Robin Know Johnson left in 1968 to go on to win the Golden Globe. I want to see his footprints in the cement at the dock he came ashore at about ten months after he left in his old wooden boat, and then go sample the culinary delights of the famous Cornish Pasty.
