The department of Cardio Thoracic and Vascular Surgery of the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Sciences, Prasanthigram, organised a two-day Cardiac CME programme under the aegis of the Indian Association of Cardio Vascular Thoracic Surgeons (IACTS).
The scientific sessions included case presentations and symposia of surgically challenging and technically demanding cases to help guide daily practice at junior and senior levels.
Around 120 post-graduate trainees and cardiac surgeons from across India attended the conference. The faculty members included renowned cardiac surgeons like Dr. S. Rajan, the Secretary of IACTS, Dr. Valluvan Jeevanandam, Chief Cardiothoracic Surgeon, University of Chicago and Dr. Mohan Sarabu Chief Adult Cardiac Surgeon , Vassar Brothers Medical Centre, New York, USA, Dr. K.S. Iyer, Director, Pediatric & Congenital Heart Surgery, Escorts Heart Institute & Research, New Delhi, among others.
