The goal of most dividend portfolio's is to create a compounding effect. The longer you allow the compounding effect to take place, the faster your dividend snowball will continue to grow. So the sooner you can start your dividend snowball, the better. As the saying goes, the best time to start investing was fifty years ago, the second best time is today.
