Madhi is part of the Rabari people and lives in the state of Haryana in India. She will soon go to live with the family of her husband. First however, tradition requires her father, Danya, to go to the middle of the desert, and pray to the goddess Nira, asking her to protect the young couple. On lake Bamkhe, Danya will find thousands of flamingos coming here to reproduce, sheltered from predators in this Indian haven of peace.
