An easy day trip from Nashville will take you to two beautiful Tennessee State Parks where you will find incredible hiking and thundering waterfalls. Burgess Falls State Park is a 90-minute drive from Nashville. Located on the Falling Water River, this park provides easy access to three beautiful waterfalls. The main falls drops more than 130 feet into the gorge. Less than an hour south is Fall Creek Falls. There are nearly 30,000 acres to explore with winding trails, lush greenery, and several spectacular waterfalls including the namesake Fall Creek Falls -- the highest free-fall waterfall east of the Mississippi River.
