Ubisoft officially announced its E3 2021 event. Dubbed Ubisoft Forward, it will add to the series of digital conferences Ubisoft has held over the last year. This one feels a bit special though, as it’s taking place during a time where many of us expect to see plenty of exciting gaming news. Ubisoft finally revealed details about what to expect, including a world premiere of the next mainline entry to Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six series. If you're wondering how to watch it, here's when and where to tune in, as well as what Ubisoft plans to show and some predictions.
The Ubisoft Forward show at E3 2021 will start with a one-hour pre-show focused on updates on live games such as Watch Dog: Legion, For Honor, The Crew 2, Brawlhalla, Trackmania, and more.
The main show will include news on Ubisoft's upcoming games, including a world premiere featuring gameplay and trailers of the upcoming Tom Clancy co-op game, unofficially named Rainbow Six Quarantine. More details on Far Cry 6 were promised, as well as news on the upcoming extreme sports multiplayer game, Riders Republic. Updates on upcoming content from Assassin's Creed Valhalla and Rainbow Six Siege were confirmed for the show, too.
It's no secret many of Ubisoft's games were plagued by development delays over the last year. Many were pushed to this year or later into this year. Despite that, if we look at the lineup of upcoming games listed in the Ubisoft Store, many of those titles made it into the show. Roller Champions and Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake weren't mentioned, nor was the recently announced The Division Heartland, but that doesn't necessarily mean we won't hear about them. And if we don't hear about them at E3 2021, then we probably will soon after that.
Far Cry 6 was delayed earlier this year but a recent stream featuring gameplay reveal confirmed a Far Cry 6 release date of October 7, 2021. We also did an in-depth Far Cry 6 preview that dived into its new gameplay elements.
Rainbow Six Quarantine was also delayed but is supposed to launch before September 30, 2021 (per a third-quarter earnings call). Roller Champions and Riders Republic were delayed but still have release windows in 2021. The Division Heartland was recently announced and slated for 2021, as well.
The Avatar game, Skull & Bones, and Beyond Good & Evil could make the cut, but with many having release windows that are a bit further out and/or updates on them being slim, it likely lowers the chances of them being shown. The Avatar game from Massive Entertainment was delayed in late 2020 and now has a window between April 2021 to March 2022. Earlier this year, Skull & Bones was delayed for a third time, in a window between 2022 to 2023. Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake was delayed earlier this year and is expected to release before April 2022.
We'd love to get some updates on Beyond Good & Evil and Skull & Bones, even if it's a peek at what the studios have been working on. That said, we encourage you to check back here as we’ll be updating this hub with more details as they come out.
