18% of all district heating to the third-largest city of Austria, Linz, is served by a biomass fired combined heat and power (CHP) plant.
The biomass plant is built, owned and is operated by Linz AG. AET supplied the CHP plant.
Biomass district heating reduces CO2 emission
The use of renewable energy sources to district heating reduces the emissions with approximately 50,000 CO2 ton/year in the area of Linz. The biomass plant fulfils the requirement of Linz AG to supply green electricity and bio heating.
