Dylan Johnson made a scathing video on TrainerRoad, critiquing the platform for several reasons. Primarily for the amount of intensity that the sweet spot/threshold TrainerRoad plans have. In a separate video, Dylan offers an alternative form of training called "Polarized Training".

I've done over 1,000 workouts with the TrainerRoad platform, mostly using their sweet spot/threshold training plan. Over time, these TrainerRoad training plans have increased my FTP significantly. But, I had never done a polarized training plan before, so I decided to take Dylan up on his word and give his advice and science based recommendations a try.

After completing this block of training on TrainerRoad, there were a few eye opening moments for me and I share them with you in this video.

New to my channel? Well, I'm an average recreational cyclist that recently moved from America to Girona, Catalunya, Spain. The Tour De France 2023, The Vuelta España 2023 and The Tour of Catalunya will all be held here in Spain! Sometimes I race and when I do, I share my training with you along the way.
