This video shows how to temporarily fix the chain jumping issue on Grizzly G0890 G0891 planers, using a rubber mallet to tap the sprocket shaft into alignment with chain. Grizzly will have a permanent repair kit available for this issue around the end of September. The washers were too small on some shafts connected to sprockets, allowing the sprocket to become misaligned and ride on the edge of the chain, resulting in the jumping sound on approximately 10% of units released in 2020. Grizzly will send repair kit free if you request from their tech support. Basically, it is just a kit with four bigger "D" cut washers to prevent the shafts from moving, and there is a chain tension pulley that bolts to existing hole in gearbox. Tensioning the chain prevents the shaft from moving during operation if you don't install the replacement "D" washers. Install the entire kit and you never have to worry about it again.
