Google has just rebranded “Bard” as “Gemini.” (In case you're unfamiliar, Bard was Google’s alternative to OpenAI’s ChatGPT.)

While Bard might have once seemed a step (or several) behind ChatGPT, powered by GPT-3.5 for standard users and GPT-4 for Plus subscribers, Gemini is arguably the next level. Although, in fairness, OpenAI’s GPT-4 Turbo release likely isn’t far off.

Unlike ChatGPT, which leans on different models like DALL•E 3 for tasks beyond text, Gemini's multimodal approach can handle text, images, code, and math all in one. Here's what else you need to know:

• Mobile App Launch: With Gemini now available through its new mobile app, you'll unlock new levels of interaction. Engage with the app using unique smartphone capabilities, such as its camera, to prompt and interact in ways the desktop version simply can't match.

• Gemini Advanced: Competing with ChatGPT Plus, this premium option offers access to Google’s most potent model, GeminiULTRA 1.0, surpassing even GeminiPRO.
