Once Waterloo Central acquired batteries the boys installed them in 6148 and tested the electrical equipment once again. Then they decided to test engine No.2 and it’s transmission on the WCR mainline. This would be the first time an RDC has run under its own power on this line in years. The boys went a total of about two miles (mile out and mile back) the car ran great. With no problems.
Next is to fix the electrical problems on the No.1 engine and test it in the same way ... then run the car with both engines together.
Still lots to do .... but it’s coming along
