if you have got a new arduino uno board then first of all you should check that it performs properly or not , so you should use a simple code to blink a led bulbs ..
step:-
1. connect the arduino to laptop
2.connect led +ve terminal to the pin number 13 of arduino and another lag connect with ground.
3.open your arduino IDE software and go to file - example - basis - blinks.
4.compile the code and then upload the code in arduino.
