☕T-Talks is looking forward to speaking with the amazing Jessica Savage-Jones, CEO and Founder of StandUp 2 Breast Cancer.
☕While working as a clinical research nurse at the University of Pennsylvania, Jessica fell in love with research. She quickly developed a passion for patient advocacy and increasing awareness and diversity in clinical trials. As a result of this passion, she decided to start STAND UP 2 Breast Cancer. The organization centers on the principles of Empowerment, Access, and diversity. Their aim is to empower individuals diagnosed with breast cancer, create accessibility to supportive resources, and increase diversity in clinical trials.
☕The mission of STAND UP 2 Breast Cancer is to provide support and promote self-efficacy by disseminating information related to cancer treatment, products to manage the side effects of chemotherapy, and literature about participation in clinical trials while individuals navigate through their cancer diagnosis. They believe every individual should have access to resources that empower them to stand up to breast cancer.
☕As an experienced research nurse, Jessica has received numerous accolades and contributed to several journal articles. In 2007, she was the recipient of Temple University’s College of Public Health Outstanding Community Service Award. Furthermore, as a member of the University of Pennsylvania’s Breast Cancer Research team, Jessica was an honoree at the 2019 Philly Fights Breast Cancer Gala.
☕Please tune in on Wednesday at 2:00 PM EST to learn more about this amazing mission.
