One of the best AFK magic training methods to get 99 magic almost completely AFK inside nightmare zone using burst and barrage ancient magics. Use the excess points on herb boxes to offset the cost even more. Check out my AFK range training guide too using a Venator bow and amethyst arrows. These can be done on a budget too! Beats splashing and has good experience rates compared to bursting and barrage in the monkey madness 1 and 2 caves.
