There are new developments in the targeting of Catholics by the Ortega regime in Nicaragua. After closing down a Jesuit-run university earlier this month, the government has given the school a new name. The move follows the expulsion earlier this week of a group of Jesuits from their house near the school. The government says the Catholic university was housing terrorists. School officials strongly deny the claims. This comes as Bishop Rolando Alvarez remains in prison on charges of treason. President of the Global Liberty Alliance and an expert on Central and South America, Jason Poblete, joins to share why he thinks President Ortega continues these activities, following a string of other anti-religious/anti-Catholic actions. This week the US State Department put visa restrictions on 100 top Nicaraguan officials. Poblete tells us whether he thinks this is just the start of counter-measures and what else he would like to see the US and its allies do to try and reverse Ortega's persecution of the faithful. Ecuador is in the midst of some of its worst violence and crime in years, but will have to wait for a new leader until October after Sunday's elections led to a runoff. Luisa Gonzalez, an establishment leftist and political outsider Daniel Noboa will face-off in 2 months. Poblete discusses just how pivotal this election result is to the region and also to the United States and its influence in South America.
