A suicide bomber in Afghanistan attempts to board a military bus and then leaves the capital city in chaos....
Wearing an army uniform, the bomber detonated a massive explosive that left at least 28 soldiers and two civilians dead.
A purported Taliban spokesman says the militant group is responsible for the blast.
Afghanistan's president Hamid Karzai quickly condemned the bombing, saying it's contrary to the teaching of Islam
SOT: Karzai -- "It was a terrible tragedy, no doubt an act of extreme cowardice,""Whoever did this was against people, against humanity, definitely against Islam."
The attack mirrored a similar bombing in June that killed 35 people -- when a police academy bus was blown up in the busiest section of Kabul .
Afghan military and police are often targeted because they are viewed as being puppets of a government that is allied with the United States.
The Taliban has already launched more than 100 suicide attacks this year, a record pace.
