India’s economic recovery from the Covid pandemic is complete and the economy is expected to grow in the range of 6% to 6.8% in the coming financial year 2023-24. Despite the slowdown, India will remain the fastest-growing major economy in the world, as per the Economic Survey 2022-23 that was tabled in Parliament on Tuesday by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, a day before she presents the Union Budget. Prepared by the Chief Economic Advisor, V Anantha Nageswaran, the Economic Survey details the state of the economy, the challenges due to global uncertainties and the roadmap for India’s growth in the remainder of this decade. We’ll analyse the key highlights of the annual report card of the economy.
