In their latest paper in Development, Link and colleagues examined the roles of Hippo signalling components during zebrafish eye development, showing that the transcriptional regulators Yap/Taz and Tead are necessary and sufficient for optic vesicle progenitors to adopt retinal pigmented epithelium identity. This movie is from this study and shows the process of ocular morphogenesis. Presumptive and definitive retinal pigment epithelium cells are labelled in green.
