Start Fixin Yo’ Sh!T - [ Ссылка ] If you’ve been following MoveU for a while now, you probably know we’re big fans of the Scapula Push-Up 💪
Why you ask⁉️
Well one big reason being — if your shoulder blades aren’t in the right position when you’re doing a push up, you might run into problems along the way including imbalances and misalignments.
A simple way to ingrain the right position into your mind & body is through a trap push-up:
1. Get into a plank (top of a push-up) position. Make sure your spine is parallel ↔️ to the ground.
2. Now focus on pulling your sternum away from the ground and pushing your back to the sky ⛅️ but without rounding your spine. 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗸𝗲𝘆: 𝗡𝗼 𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴. This is where you should be during your push-up. At no point, should you deviate from this position.
3. Now go the opposite way. Send your sternum closer to the ground and your shoulder blades together, almost like the muscles in your back are a 🌮 trying to hold in all the delicious filling. This is where your shoulders might be during a push-up, but ultimately not where you want to be. In this particular exercise, you’re aiming to strengthen your serratus anterior and lower trap muscles.
4. Now go back and forth, back and forth and feel all the muscles working 😅
Trap push-ups will help build body awareness about where you should and shouldn’t be during a plank or a push-up ✅🚫 These can also help build the strength you need for setting your shoulder blades into better alignment, and therefore achieving better balance, less pain, and all the other sh*t that you want. 😉🔥
