Presidential hopeful Kanye West broke down in tears at his first rally in North Charleston, South Carolina.
During a lengthy and emotional monologue, the rapper touched on topics from slavery and religion to abortion and international trade.
In a controversial remark, he said abolitionist Harriet Tubman “never actually freed the slaves, she just had them work for other white people.”
West needs to collect 10,000 signatures by noon on Monday to appear on the South Carolina ballot, according to state law.
