India said they had shot down a Pakistani F-16 fighter plane, before admitting to losing one Mig-21 supersonic jet to Pakistan. They did not say whether the second downed air force plane (pictured bottom left to right), which crashed in Budgam, some 18 miles from Srinagar in Indian Kashmir, had been targeted by Pakistani forces. The Pakistani army said one plane went down on India's side of the territory, while the other was said to have crashed on Pakistan's side of the region. They claim two Indian Air Force pilots in the second plane were reportedly captured by Pakistani troops, but despite assurances they were ‘being treated well’ video footage shows one of the pilots being beaten up upon his arrest.
