The Doepfer Dual Quantizer can be used to quantize a continuous CV signal like one from a Triangle LFO into a musical scale, which can then be used to control the pitch of an oscillator. This technique can lead to creating a self generating patch that produces musical melodic arpeggios. Instead of a triangle wave LFO, a random generator can be used to create more random melodic ideas.
