This gorgeous sonata was written in 1957 and has become a favorite of flutists ever since! We recorded this live at a lovely church in New Melle, MO as a part of the Cathedral Concerts Chamber Music Series. Poulenc worked with the famous flutist Jean-Pierre Rampal to create this masterpiece, weaving whimsical themes, colorful harmonies, and lyrical melodies into a sonic tapestry.
Movements:
I. Allegretto malincolico (beginning)
II. Cantilena (4:27 )
III. Presto Giocoso (9:03)
