A bill to regulate mining in Sierra Leone has just been passed by the Parliament and is expected to be signed into law by President Julius Maada Bio in the coming weeks.
Women’s rights groups have been lobbying for equal rights for women in the country's mining industry.
The bill specifically looks at how to improve working conditions and finances for female miners Sierra-Leone.
