Ortwin Renn is scientific director at the International Institute for Advanced Sustainability Studies in Potsdam and professor for environmental sociology and technology assessment at the University of Stuttgart, Germany. He has been a member of the Federal Government’s “Climate Change” research platform, and in 2019 was awarded the Order of Merit for special achievement in scientific policy advice.
