Can't figure out how to remove the blank top cap on your Future Shock 1.5 equipped Specialized Diverge, Roubaix, Ruby, or Sirrus? Need a run down on how to swap boost springs? The Future Shock 1.5 system is an update to the original Future Shock debuted on the Specialized Roubaix in 2017. It comes standard on many of the new Specialized bikes including the 2021 Diverge in this video. Servicing the Future Shock 1.5 is slightly different than its predecessor and also a bit different than its damped counterpart, the Future Shock 2.0.

Also, if you damage your Future Shock top cap like I almost did, you can order a replacement with this part number:

One suggestion was to loosen the stem bolts and use the friction of the stem against the top cap to remove it. This method was unsuccessful for me, but worth a shot if you’re having trouble removing the top cap.
