I started my career in commercial real estate in 2007 partnering with Jarrad Katz, SIOR, CCIM. We were at a ReMax Commercial franchise. ReMax sent a speaker to Green Valley Ranch Hotel for an all-day sales seminar on a spring Thursday morning. It was largely residential, but we attended.
The speaker that day taught us the importance of being intentional when asking for referrals with your existing sphere of influence.
Being intentional about asking for referrals with your existing sphere of influence* looks/sounds like this, “Hi John, I am calling to check in. How is your family? How is the business?”
This next part is critical. “Hey, I hope its ok, but I need to put my real estate hat on now and ask you, is there anyone that you can think of that I should be talking to about helping them buy or sell a building?”
If you do this consistently your production trajectory will dramatically change for the better.
