SMA Syndrome survivor and author of the multi-award-winning "Sprectrum Novel Series", Samantha Mina, sings her modified version of Capital Lights' "Favorite Christmas Story", commemorating when she first met her now-husband on 1/20/19. Lyrics below.
He met her up in Reston in 2019
She was wearing red lipstick
To match her sweater dress
January 20th at a quarter till 7
Is when he finally gained the courage
To ask her to date
It was a frigid day
It was love at first sight
The radio sang as they talked through the night
She was a Reston girl
He was an Avon guy
They never exchanged surnames before they said their goodbyes
A day later
He was out on the road,
Having coffee in Pete’s café alone
When he saw a his lovely lady with a gleam in her eye
She recognized him
She showed her spirits were high
He said, "Ma’am, can you join me for a coffee cheer?"
A simple "yes" is all he wanted to hear
So, enthused with a smile she’d grin and say,
"I can’t want to have coffee with you today"
She said, "I met him up in Reston in 2019
We bumped on accident
Now I knew it was fate.
January 20th at a quarter till 7
I'm so glad he gained the courage
To ask me to date."
