Mr Fry has come up with a new plan to protest over what he calls the "unspeakable" treatment of the gay community in Russia.
He has called on althletes competing in the Sochi Winter Olympics in Russia to make a "simple gesture" of solidarity by crossing the their arms accross their chest whilst receiving their medals.
"[Its] just a simple gesture, they can't take that away, they're not going to chop their arms off", Mr Fry said.
The British actor, who has written an open letter to Prime Minister David Cameron asking him to boycott the the Winter Olympics, was speaking at Gay Pride in Glasgow.
"It's becoming a really, really grim time to be gay in Russia, it's horrifying what's happening there. And we want to show them that we are thinking of them," he said.
