An endangered zebra might have died, if not for human rescuers. The Grevy's zebra was attacked by a predator in Kenya's Lewa Wildlife Conservancy.

A team of veterinarians treated its injury after discovering the gory scene. After disinfecting and mending the gash, the zebra was released onto unsteady legs, a side effect of the anesthetic used. Grevy's zebras are only found in Kenya and parts of Ethiopia. They are listed as endangered, and only about 2,600 are left worldwide.
