A freak occurrence has ignited gases in the upper atmosphere, and the heat is destroying everything in the southern hemisphere. Admiral Nelson has a plan to blow the fire out with a nuclear explosion, but another scientist with a different idea is determined to keep him from firing the missile. He's willing to kill if necessary.
