Cincinnati Children's is finding new ways to the best, safest and most effective care for your child.
With video visits, you can see a provider from the comfort of home. Here's what you can expect.
For your appointment with a specialist, your care team will contact you to schedule a Telehealth visit if an in-person visit is not required. They'll send you an email with instructions and a link to download an app to your on your smartphone or tablet.
Make sure to download the app and read the instructions the day before your appointment. Next, allow the app to access your device's camera and microphone so your provider can see and hear you. The instructions may ask you to test your device.
When it's time for your appointment, go back to your email with the instructions to begin your video visit. Choose a safe, quiet, private space with your child to have your video visit. It is best to be connected to wi-fi. Please do not try to have a video visit while driving a car. You might consider whether a second adult or a baby carrier would be helpful if it's hard to hold the phone and your child at the same time.
Once you click the link, you will be connected to your visit. You may be placed in the lobby at first and admitted when the provider is ready, When the provider is ready, you will see yourself and your provider on the screen. Your provider will ask questions related to your child's symptoms, condition and how your child is feeling. Your provider might share images or test results with you over the screen.
Make sure you ask any questions or voice concerns you may have. If you need help connecting for your video visit, you can call the Center for Telehealth at 513-803-8353, Monday through Friday, 8 am to 7 pm.
At Cincinnati Children's, we're committed to care, and to staying connected with you.
