About the plane: The Polikarpov I-16 was a Soviet fighter aircraft of revolutionary design, it was the world's first low-wing cantilever monoplane fighter with retractable landing gear to attain operational status and as such 'introduced a new vogue in fighter design', introduced in the mid-1930s.
About the kit: Kit has surface detail, separate trailing edge flaps, detailed cockpit and fuselage area, transparent (instrument panel, landing lights and windscreen), detailed radial engine with face plate and optional cowling, ShKAS machine guns, single piece propeller with separate spinner, detailed wheel wells and optional undercarriage.
