V2P migration
VIRTUAL TO PHYSICAL MACHINE MIGRATION
___________________________________________________________________________________________________
(NOTE: Not all motherboards support the hard drive that you migrated th virtual machine to)
things needed in the migration
1) spare laptop hard drive with a hardrive to usb cable
2) vmware workstation (The trial version will work) (note: Virtualbox has not been tested with this method)
import the .ova virtualbox appliance into vmware workstation
this link shows you how to do that:

3) copy of windows - (if your installing a fresh copy of windows for migration) " iso image or physical dvd" for installaton within vmware workstation
4) a free copy of EZ Gig IV for the cloning process

5) a)
a windows computer with the correct bios settings (not all motherboards work... This is the equivalent of installing windows then moving that hard drive to a different computer... or... Installing windows then upgrading the motherboard)
B) Windows laptop or desktop
1) windows laptop becasue you can take out the laptops hard drive and put in the hard drive that you migrated the virtual machine to... or if your motherboaard supports it - boot from the usb cable with your hard drive plugged in (some motherboard wont recognize the usb cable)
2) Desktop so you can plug the laptop hard drive that you migrated the virtual machine to, into the usb port and boot into windows(Note: you need power from the desktop to power the internal hard drive, I'm not sure if you can plug the laptop hard drive into the internal cables)
6) ENJOY!!
LETS GET STARTED!!!
1) Download vmware workstation
2) install vmare workstation
3) create virtual machine (NOTE:) ( make the virtual machine the size of the hard drive you are migrating it to)(this just makes it easier for the software... if your virtual disk is larger or smaller than the target disk it really doesnt matter.) install the windows operating system inside the virtual machine using a physical copy of windows installation or an iso file.
4) download EZ Gig IV onto the virtual machine
5) plug your external hard drive into your computer
A) back up any data on the hard drive to your host machine
B) allow it to disconnect from the host and allow it to connect in the guest
6) fire up EZ Gig IV and start the cloning process (watch the video on how to successfully do this)
7) eject the hard drive after the cloning is finished
8) insert the hard drive into the new machine and try to boot
if you get the blue screen of death - do not panick yet...
9) shut down the computer
10) power it on again but this time go into the bios and change the SATA configuration to something different(eg: if its on AHCI - change it to IDE)
11) try all options under SATA configuration... if it boots... CONGRATUALTIONS!!
you found a compatible compter with compatible motherboard!!
12) if it didnt boot... keep trying computers and repeating steps 8 - 11 until you find a compatible computer!!
Hope it worked!! THANKS
