The Sandwich Generation is always with us, from the Greatest Generation to the Millenials. For as long as human beings have cared for families, each of those families has had a caretaker upon whom the burden of caring upward and downward falls. Certain communities along ethnic and socioeconomic lines practice caregiving for their elders differently, making each member of the Sandwich Generation’s experience a highly personal one. What challenges does today’s Sandwich Generation experience, and how can we create a society where caregivers and their loved ones all feel cared for? Dianna Campbell-Saulsbury, Chief Development Officer, National Council on Aging, Margarita Navas, Assistant to the President, National Hispanic Council on Aging and Kim Parker, Director of Social Trends Research, Pew Research Center take the stage with Steve Clemons, Washington Editor at Large, The Atlantic to discuss.
