The $3.1-billion One Vanderbilt commercial office tower will rise to 1,401 ft across the street from Grand Central Terminal. The project, set for completion by the end of 2020, aims to be as distinctive within its 1.7 million sq ft as it is on the outside. Led by SL Green Realty as owner and developer, Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates as the architect and AECOM Tishman Construction as construction manager, the skyscraper seeks to raise the global standard of sustainable design and construction.
When it is finished — in 2020, it will be among the 30 tallest buildings in the world.
