During Orthodox Easter time, Romanians are preparing a lot of recipes with Lamb meat. A common dish in Romania during this period of the year is the LAMB SOUP or BORSCHT. Many years ago, every Romanian family used to butcher at least a LAMB for ORTHODOX EASTER. But nowadays it happens less and less. However, the LAMB BORSCHT and STEAK are a must on the ORTHODOX EASTER table.
Most of the ingredients present in this BORSCHT are fresh because they are seasonal in Spring. Back in the old days, people used to grow everything they cooked.
This dish combines the tenderness of the LAMB MEAT and the freshness of the GREEN GARLIC and ONIONS to create a rich, mouth-watering, and fulfilling Spring dish.
Among others, it uses BORS or Vinegar to create the ultimate dish.
