When a mild-mannered and iconically-moustached man from Birmingham is labelled 'Il Leone' or 'The Lion' by the Tifosi, you know he's a bit special. Last year we celebrated 30 years since Nigel Mansell's Silverstone win in the Williams FW14B, but he also managed a few runs in some other iconic machinery. The Ferrari 639 never raced, but was a test mule for Mansell's Ferrari 640 for the 1989 season.
That 3.5-litre V12 still sings as beautifully as it did in the late '80s and having the legend himself behind the wheel was a truly special moment for all of the Goodwood Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard crowd.
