The war in Ukraine is a brutal reminder of one thing: the sky is no longer a safe zone. Both sides are throwing aerial threats at each other like confetti at a particularly aggressive parade. This surge in flying danger puts a spotlight on another crucial element: air defense systems.
While Ukraine got top-of-the-line air defense for free, courtesy of its allies, Russia has its own arsenal of these lifesavers too. One of them, the Strela-10, has been a key player in Russian air defense for decades. This highly mobile, short-range missile system packs a punch, but that's not all. As the war unfolds, the Strela-10 has been getting some serious upgrades to stay ahead of the game.
So, curious about this Russian air defense system and what upgrades have been done to it?
