This presentation details the efforts taken at Vanderbilt University Medical Center to optimize test utilization within hematopathology. The presentation frames the problems encountered in common clinical practice, describes the Vanderbilt approach to address these issues, and illustrates the results of those efforts after the first year. In addition, the presentation demonstrates how bringing rigor to clinical testing practices can help create evidence for further optimizations of the testing guidelines.
