The first group of athletes of the Korean delegation to the Rio Olympic Games has arrived in the host city. Korean expats from all over Brazil rocked the Rio airport with their cheers and greetings.

Korean athletes finally show up at the arrival area after a grueling 25-hour flight. The athletes' appearance at the Olympic venue of Rio brought forth feverish cheers from the Korean expats in Brazil.
[Soundbite] Chung Mong-gyu(Chief, Korean Olympic Delegation) : "We came a long way. We will try to make all Koreans happy by performing well as we practiced."
[Soundbite] Oh Young-ran(Korean national women's handball team) : "I was really surprised that so many people came out to greet us. Now that I'm here I feel nervous and realize this is really happening."
Koreans living in Brazil sent them ardent support loud enough to rock the airport. Some 70 Korean-Brazilians, who had traveled from Sao Paulo to welcome the Korean athletes, livened up the atmosphere by playing the gongs and drums for two hours prior to the team's arrival.
[Soundbite] Jeong Yeong-ho(Korean expat from Sao Paulo) : "It took me 7 hours to come to Rio de Janeiro from Sao Paulo. I'm going to cheer them on and then return home after lunch."
The Korean delegation will stay at the Olympic Athletes' Village before starting their training to adjust to the local environment.
