Local residents are outraged when their small towns lawyer is murdered at a military base during world war two.A suspect is soon named but few wan't to defend such a heinous crime.The onus falls on lawyer Harmon Cobb who was best friends with the victim.Cobb has to overcome both grief and social stigma in order to maintain his integrity while defending the suspect.
