On April 28 2022, SickKids Centre for Global Child Health, The Lancet and The Aga Khan University hosted the launch of the ‘Optimising Child and Adolescent Health and Development Series’ published in The Lancet. Live-streamed from Aga Khan Centre in London, UK, this webinar featured experts Dr. Zulfiqar A. Bhutta (Series Co-ordinator), Dr. Robert Black, Dr. Cesar Victora, Dr. Margaret Kruk, Tyler Vaivada, Dr. Maureen Black and others as they discussed the rebuilding of holistic child health services after the COVID-19 pandemic. An interactive panel moderated by The Lancet’s Executive Editor Dr. Jocalyn Clark featured Dr. Richard Horton, Editor-in-Chief of The Lancet, Dr. Jennifer Bryce of Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, and Dr. Ties Boerma of the University of Manitoba.
The event also included remarks from UNICEF’s Executive Director Dr. Catherine Russell, Director-General of the World Health Organization Dr. Tedros Ghebreyesus, and The Aga Khan University’s Provost and Vice President Dr. Carl Amrhein.
