Bike Check - Lance Coury's 1992 Harley Davidson FXR
Recently the FXR has been very sought after, with riders and collectors appreciating its Erik Beull designed frame using the tri-mount and link system that had been introduced a couple of years earlier on the FLT, eliminated vibration as an issue. A very stout and stiff frame wrapped around the mechanicals, instead of the purer backbone designs of previous FXs(Dyna), which hung components onto the central backbone structure. The FXR Frame has less casted parts and has a lot of welded stamped steal parts. These bikes were built in the era before robots were welding everything, they were built by hand. They just don't make Harley's like they used to!
The Harley Davidson FXR was build from 1982 until 1995 and was later reintroduced in the late 90's early 2000's as the FXR2 and FXR3 with limited production numbers.
