This week Two Geeks on a Couch buckles up for one of our most hauntingly visceral first time reaction videos to Mike Flanagan's brilliant adaptation of Stephen King's novel Gerald's Game. Come along for this truly distressing ride as we discuss the impacts of secret keeping in relationship to traumatic events, the parallels between this film and Delores Claiborne, and we are awed and horrified at Carla Gugino's agonizing performance as the primary, formidable force that holds this movie together.
Carla Gugino is supported by an incredibly talented cast, including, Bruce Greenwood, Henry Thomas, Kate Siegel, Chiara Aurelia, and Carel Stuycken. Gerald's Game was originally released in 2017.

Interesting fact about this film:
Just in case you missed this Easter Egg reference to Dolores Claiborne, the woman from the dream Jessie describes as standing over a well during an eclipse is Dolores Claiborne, the main character from Stephen King's 1992 novel of the same name. This is the same eclipse, in the same town where young Jessie is sexually assaulted by her father. The well that Dolores is standing over becomes the place where both she and Jessie bury the secrets of their trauma.
