A new film shines a light on our nation’s mental health struggles though the story of a young woman who could be someone you know. Best-selling author Kelly Oxford wrote and directed the critically-acclaimed film, Pink Skies Ahead. The story is loosely based on Oxford’s own mental health struggles. The film is also part of MTV’s new initiative – “Mental Health is Health.” It airs on May 8 on MTV! Oxford stopped by Check the Rhymes to talk about the film and working with an all-star cast including Mary J. Blige!
