The DS era of Pokemon brought a lot to the series, with Gen 4 giving a lot to the games and being extremely fondly remembered. The sheer volume of polished features and ways to play Pokemon during this generation are always going to make them some of my favorites.

Today I want to appreciate one of those features that I think deserves a lot of love for what it gives to the series in the Stat Trainers. These are a group of 5 NPCs that will team up with the player for double battles at various points in the story, from dungeons all the way up to the battle frontier, and they each represent a battle stat. But there's a lot more under the surface here, so let's dive in to the Unsung Heroes Of Gen 4 Pokemon!
