On a quest to find tigers (T4, T8 and T9) in the jungles of Nagzira Tiger Reserve (Nagzira Wildlife Sanctuary).
I was left spellbound after listening to the exhilarating and electrifying wildlife experiences that people have had in the pristine jungle of the Nagzira Tiger Reserve. So, when the opportunity sprung up to visit this tiger-reserve, I had no second thoughts about ceasing it! Moreover, a mating pair of leopards was sighted a stone’s throw away from the place we were supposed to stay at, just two-days prior to our arrival and a tigress had killed a full-grown gaur a few days ago. My excitement knew no bounds.
In the summers of 2020, we set foot in the sanctum sanctorum – Nagzira - only to be left enchanted by the buzzing of the insects, chirping of the birds and cicadas, hooting of the owls, bellowing of deer and nerve-wracking thrill of being present in the citadel of the tigers and the leopards.
With the ever optimism that ‘Nagdev’, the guardian of Nagzira and its inhabitants, would bless us and unfold Nagzira’s bountiful mysteries and grace us with spellbinding wildlife moments, we commenced each ride through the opaque expanses of teak forests, dense bamboo trees and grasslands.
The quest to track the majestic felines – the elusive tigers of Nagzira was on! I am sharing my experience in this beautiful forest with you all.
